Carrots Are Yummy

Jett has now started eating baby food. We started with rice cereal, which he didn't care for. So far, he loves bananas and carrots! The carrots are especially messy! We will try some more fruits and vegetables in a couple of days.

Today we're going to Houston to see G, Opa, and Uncle Indy. They are going to spend some time with our little Jett I. so that Mommy and Daddy can go to dinner and see a movie. We will be celebrating a belated anniversary. Hopefully, I will come back with lots of fun pictures to post. Also, I should be able to add to our trip to TN. G had a lot more pictures than I did. My camera always dies at the worst times!

4 Month Doctor Visit

Jett had his 4 month doctor visit yesterday, which means it was time for more shots. It was so sad! He was lying on the table so happy and cooing until she stuck him with that first needle. His face was pitiful. After the 2 shots, he was crying a ton, which is especially horrible now that he has tears. The tears make me so sad! Jett did great for the rest of the day. He was so happy that you'd never know he'd gotten shots that day. He is the best!

On a happier note...We are always excited to see how much Jett's grown since his last checkup. He is so big!!! He is now 26 1/2 inches long, which puts him in the 90th percentile. And, he's 15 lbs 3 1/2 oz, which puts him between the 50th and 75th percentile. He's grown so much! At his 2 month checkup he was 24 inches long and 11 lbs 9 oz. It's just so amazing when I think back to 4 months ago when he was born at 6 lbs 13 oz and 20 inches.
We were also excited to hear that Jett gets to begin solid foods! Today we get to start some cereal, and then we get to add 1 fruit and 1 vegetable. It's so exciting!

Family Pictures

About a month ago, we decided to have our family pictures taken, as well as Jett's 3 month pictures. The photographer came out to the Rhodes' Ranch, and we got some beautiful pictures. The land out there is beautiful, so we had some wonderful back drops. This is our favorite family picture.
Jett's eyes were so blue next to these blue bonnets! He did so great for his pictures!

I love this picture of Jett loving his Daddy! It's one of my favorites!

Jett was just cooing away to his Daddy and me in this picture. The photographer was wonderful. She caught this moment just as we were standing there.

We just had to have a picture by the water. It was absolutely beautiful! The weather was fantastic, and it turned out to be a great day for pictures. We were very pleased with the results.

Rolling Over

Ryan, Jett, and I went to Houston on Sunday afternoon. We met G and Uncle Indy with Jett, so that he could go play while Ryan and I went to the Kenny Chesney concert. This was the first time that Ryan and I have gone anywhere without Jett being with one of us. We had a great time at the concert with the Hankins. It was very relaxing! Jett had a wonderful time with G, Opa, and Uncle Indy. I was told that he didn't cry at all. Jett was playing with Opa, and nearly rolled over. This would've been the first time. He got distracted when G walked into the room, so he never did roll over while we were in Houston. After getting home, Jett was exhausted. He ate and went straight to sleep for the night. He did great!!! He slept until 4:00, which was 6 hours. He's never slept that long before. He went to sleep on his back with his arms in the air, as usual. When he woke up to eat, I noticed that he had rolled over onto his stomach. So, technically we missed the first time he rolled over. But this morning, during his happy time, he rolled over toward me. Ryan and I got to see his second roll. Jett met two huge milestones in just a couple of hours. We are so excited!!!

Easter

As usual, I'm behind on my blogging. I hopefully will catch up at some point. These are Jett's Easter pictures. I was so pleased. He did wonderfully with the live rabbit. He sat up like a big boy, and even gave a bit of a smile. We participated in the Easter egg hunt set up especially for the babies at church. The eggs weren't really hidden, which was a good thing. This Momma doesn't need any extra work. Jett sat in the grass for just a little bit and picked up a blue egg. His Daddy was very proud of the manly color choice!
